Eva Fogelman's "Conscience & Courage"

This is a must read for anyone that cares about the world in 2007:

Eva Fogelman's "Conscience & Courage: Rescuers of Jews during the Holocaust."

This site is dedicated to excerpts. They just barely begin to scratch the surface of this book that shows us what Humanity looks like. There were too few examples then. Are there any today?

We better start to remember, or it will be too late for us all.

It's nice that you are quoting a lot from Dr. Fogelman's book, but people should know there are other good books out there about Holocaust rescuers. Here are a few of my favorites:

Lest Innocent Blood Be Shed by Philip Hallie (HarperCollins)

The Heart Has Reasons: Holocaust Rescuers and Their Stories of Courage by Mark Klempner (Pilgrim Press)

The Altruistic Personality: Rescuers of Jews in Nazi Europe by Samuel and Pearl Oliner (Touchstone)

Courage To Care by Carol Rittner and Sondra Myers (NYU Press)
